Chris Gilpin is the visionary founder and Director of Umeboshi Studios, a human-centered design firm specializing in curating authentic Japanese cultural experiences. With a profound passion for understanding traditional Japanese craftsmanship and practices, Christine's transformative journey began during her 9 years living in Aomori, Japan.
Chris will be teaching YOU the art of Kintsugi.
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or gold leaf to commemorate the breakage and repair of an object as part of its history.
